Day one: Welcoming! It was a teary goodbye when I finally left my mum, brother and aunty and walked through the international gates all on my lonesome. It was extremely daunting but good old Eric Nguyen called me and kept me company up to the point where I finally boarded my flight which was delayed by 1 hour and 45 mins. The flight was long and uncomfortable. I even started to get motion sickness after about 8 hours into the flight. But I stuck it out. After finally arriving, I felt so fatigued. Yet the American customs at LAX never gave me a second to break. Immediately lining up to be accepted, the lines of ‘visitors’ stretched beyond as far as my short legs would allow me to see over the several foreigners that joined me. I stood in line for 1.5 hours. Just to get approved. But when I finally got out of LAX my uncle who looks exactly like my dad joined me. A little bit of sadness as I already miss my parents. We headed off to his lovely home situated in the OC at Forest Lake. Thus being reunited with my family, we headed straight for ocean something mall where myself and my twin sister companions which I had not seen since I was 10 excitedly marched through the mall. There I bought a pair of vans, a dress, a sweater and Nike runners. All for 200. Everything was so cheap. I was about to melt and die. Starbucks was amazing and macdonalds is still macdonalds. After 6 hours, we finally headed home where we searched man vs. food icons to eat at and watched some NBA. The clippers seem to be in decent form this season. Then together with 2 other families we had dinner and bonded over the singers in the Xfactor finale. Falling asleep on the couch, it was time to go to bed and catch up on the lack of energy. It is now 10:35pm in California. And I’m extremely tired. But I’m pretty happy with how my first day panned out! More shopping tomorrow! Hitting up urban outfitters. Should be good :)
